Transmigrating to Modern Earth from the Future

Chapter 14: Descent

Chapter 14: Descent

"Have all of you guys completed your class selection too?" The first person to speak was Will, who seemed to be eager to hear everyone\'s answers.

Seeing that nobody had replied to him yet, he decided to take the initiative and speak about his class first.

"I chose mage class, and received 3 skills in total with 2 of them related to combat." His initiative to speak his mind first seemed to have sparked a little bit of trust within the others as soon, Jake spoke too.

"I chose a variant of the Heavy warrior class that complements my \'Warrior State\' superpower, it even seems I unlocked some hidden requirement to choose this class due to my talent." Jake was honest with the bunch as he even revealed the fact that he received a class that differed from the 4 basic classes.

"I also chose a variant class, simply called \'Hunter\' which came from the fact that I had my \'Hawk eyes\', its basically a better version of the archer class." Qu Quan was the next person to speak as she received a surprised look from Jake, and an interested look from Will.

"I simply chose the Archer class, as I\'ve already stated I\'m good with a bow." Shivi was next to speak as his explanation was a lot more simple but he got his point across to the others.

Lumen was the final person to speak.

"I received a Spear warrior class, a variant of the light warrior, which I can only assume was offered to me due to the fact that I practiced with the spear back on Earth for a while before I was transported here." Lumen told a half truth mixed with lies to the others as he didn\'t feel it right to mention the extent of his variant class to them.

Although 2 of the others had surprisingly also obtained a variant class similar to Lumen, they were clearly different in power and uniqueness as from what they said, it didn\'t seem theirs didn\'t grant them any abilities from a different class, at least if they were telling the truth about their class.

As they moved on from discussing what classes they chose, they tallied up the classes and they turned out to have 1 light warrior, 1 Heavy warrior, 2 archers and 1 mage. It was a relatively balanced composition and if there were any gamers in the group they would know that this composition would be quite efficient at hunting beasts.

Moving on to their armours and outfits, they differed from class to class. Although the gear appeared in their inventories at first, by now they had all already equipped their armour and weapons.

Lumen wore his burlap light armour while Jake seemed to be wearing some very basic and poor coverage iron armour. Will wore some sort of mix between a cloak and gown, typical of the cliché mage from rpg games and novels.

The two archers wore something similar to Lumen, with some burlap armour that only provided the minimum protection. However Qu Quan seemed to be wearing a different pair of shoes to Shivi as they seemed more meticulously made, more complex, as if they were better at hiding the sound they made in forested environments. Perfect for a \'hunter\'.

Their weapons were as basic and rudimentary as Lumen\'s. Jake opted for a heavy two handed sword made of crude iron and looked as if it weighed at least 20 kilogram, whereas will only had on old and dead looking twig on his waist, which the others could only presume to be a wand. The two archers held recurve bows and a small dagger at their waists.

Overall they were all garbed in poor quality clothing and armour with only the most basic and medieval weapons to rely on. It was clear there was some sort of theme going on here.

Another topic discussed was the skills everyone was granted. Disappointingly everyone seemed to be granted the same type of \'mastery\' skills, except for will who was granted the \'Mana bolt\' skill, along with the \'Basic Identify\' which everyone had received. Obviously everyone also had the \'Akashic Languages\' skill as otherwise they wouldn\'t have been able to converse with each other so clearly and easily.

The four physical classes had also been granted the \'Footwork\' skill, with Will once again being left out of this, but he was recompensed with a skill that took everyone by surprise.

\'Heal\' was the name of the skill of which the name was self explanatory. To everyone\'s enquiry, will revealed that the description of the skill would heal a total of 1000 HP to the recipient.

This was quite a surprise for the group to hear as except for Lumen, everyone\'s stats were still relatively low so 1000 HP would be a large majority of their HP when used.

The only downside was that it used quite alot of mana, 150 to be exact which meant that at Will\'s current level he would only be able to cast it once before he would have to recuperate his mana.

However as he levelled up this temporary restriction would be gone and his proficiency in using the skill would rise, which would scale with the total amount of HP he could heal.

Once everyone was finished discussing their skills, they were about to move on to another topic when something caught all of their attention.

"Look.... Doesn\'t it look like there are other platforms like ours floating in the sky off in thr distance?" Qu Quan was the first to notice due to her Hawk eyes power, but as soon as she pointed it out the others quickly became aware of it too.

Though Lumen had already taken note of it earlier before the class selection had even begun.

"Now that I think about it, didn\'t the quest say that there would be extra rewards for killing both beasts and humans...." Jake spoke.

It seemed that the reality of their situation had just dawned upon them.

This wasn\'t a game, whether they liked it or not this was reality and the system had pointed that fact out many times before this.

However before any of them even had time to think about their situation, the sudden movement of their platform took their attention.

"Look, the platform\'s going down! It seems the tutorial is finally starting for real this time..."
