The Great Thief

Chapter 839 Big Brother

"Start the bet, start the bet! My money is on the battle ending in two minutes; 1:3 for every extra minute." Clearly, this person was confident in the gold-robed Mage.

"Your ****, as if you’d ask for a bet on two minutes. I’m betting a minute; 1:3 for every extra minute; 1:5 once it goes past the extra two-minute mark and 1:10 if it goes beyond the extra three-minute mark. As for a time limit beyond that, does anyone even think that’s possible?"

There were plenty of players who liked to bet like this, especially if they had money to spare and nothing to do. The gamblers who gathered at the gate of Orgrimmar all gambled more than hundreds of thousand gold coins each day.

"I’m betting – big brother, did you hear that? Be gentle and take him down after three minutes. I’m going to bet a hundred gold coins; we’ll split the profit!" someone shouted at the Mage.

The one who started the bet went pale and quickly added, "Big brother, you need to watch out for your image."

Seeing that they were shouting and screaming without even paying attention to him, Wu Qin wasn’t angry; he just felt bitter.

Big Brother!

The Big Brother in Ruling Sword was Fat Monkey.

The brightest new star in the gaming industry was probably this player. Perhaps March Rain was more valuable than he was, but that girl kept a low profile and she was also a healer.

As for Lu Li, no one took him as a new player, despite his meteoric rise to the top.

Fat Monkey lifted his chin and asked, "Are you ready? My words count – if you can beat me, I’ll let you go."

"You’re Fat Monkey," Wu Qin said. His expression wasn’t impressed.

"That’s right," Fat Monkey confirmed, then put down his staff and laughed, "Did you lose your courage as soon as you heard my name? This is just a game; don’t be a pussy."

Wu Qin immediately felt insulted by these words.

Even though Fat Monkey was a celebrity player, Wu Qin was still an elite of a major guild. The gap between wasn’t unsurmountable.

Wu Qin felt like all he lacked was just a chance.

He pounced on Fat Monkey and didn’t even bother going into Stealth.

"My goodness, there’s nothing worth seeing!" the bystanders cried out as they covered their eyes and refused to watch.

"Big Brother’s tactics are too good; I bet the battle will be finished in thirty seconds. My ten gold coins are going down the drain now," another bystander sighed, looking heartbroken.

The banker player was proud of himself and saluted Fat Monkey. "Thanks brother, I’ll shout rounds next time."

"Damn, this is no fun. I thought he was good. What are the others doing out there, they let such a weakling sneak into us," these were all elite players.

"Wait, that’s not right... Why isn’t Big Brother using Scorch? I thought he maxed it," someone pointed out after noticing that something was off.

Only Wu Qin, who was in the battle, remained clueless.

He thought that his advantage came from his surprise attack – once a Mage was within in melee range, they would be forced to dash away.

As such, Wu Qin focused entirely on Fat Monkey and didn’t dare to let him go.

The battle lasted longer than thirty seconds, which left the audience speechless. In their eyes, Fat Monkey wasn’t giving it his all; he was fooling around so that he could split some of the profit from the gamble.

How shameless could big brother be!?

A minute, two minute, five minutes...

The one who had made the first bet had already fainted on the floor. No matter how people patted his face or nudged him, he refused to get up. He simply couldn’t handle the 1:10 ratio.

If it wasn’t for the fact that everyone lived in a dorm together, he would have considered going offline and disappearing forever.

By now, Wu Qin noticed that something was wrong too.

"He’s wasting time!"

Wu Qin wasn’t stupid; he quickly dragged out his private chat and sent a message to his guild leader.

You couldn’t kill players to keep intel from leaking, since they would revive after they died. Fat Money had provoked Wu Qin so that he wouldn’t think about sending information away.

Even though Wu Qin had come to this realization, five precious minutes had now gone down the drain.

Fat Monkey noticed his expression change and sighed. His staff waved quickly and Wu Qin immediately dropped to the ground, along with one of his daggers.

"Square Root 3, are we ready to welcome some guests?" Fat Monkey asked as he picked up his victory loot.

"The guide master is already prepared, but boss also said that we don’t have to fight them face-on. There are only a few minutes until the Boss is slain. Once the announcement is out, those guilds won’t be coming."

"That’ll be best. It takes some time for the major guilds to gather their forces anyway. How was my acting before?" Fat Monkey asked as he waved his fancy gold robe.

Those who earned some income rained down their compliments; Fat Monkey had earned them.

"Big Brother, you’re amazing, fabulous, graceful, fantastic..."

In fact, Freedom Sky arrived slower than Ruling Sword had anticipated. They couldn’t gather enough top players so quickly and they didn’t dare challenge Ruling Sword alone.

As such, they dragged another big guild in to be their comrade.

Two thousand players were on their way, but before they even reached the mountain ridge that Wu Qin had described, the System had already made its announcement.

System: Congratulations to Ruling Sword, who under the leadership of Lu Li, have successfully slain the Blue Dragon, Azuregos for the First Clear. Reward: Guild level 1.

As expected, they were given a guild level reward. Azuregos wasn’t a territory-level Wild Boss, but it was still quite famous among the dragons.

In all of Dawn, Azuregos was the Boss with the most player kills, and remained on the top, even after two years.

Hexx, the Boss that Lu Li and the others killed previously couldn’t even make it into the top hundred.

Blue Dragon Azuregos had been slain?

Those who didn’t know anything were surprised; another Wild Boss had been taken down. However, for those who were aware of its true strength, the first thing they wanted to find out was how Ruling Sword had achieved this.
