The Great Thief

Chapter 921 Book of the Dead

The dungeon wasn’t finished yet, because there was another Boss on the floor waiting for them to loot.

Balnazzar was the highest-leveled boss in Stratholme and was also the most difficult. It would be ridiculous if it dropped nothing. Lu Li had a feeling that it might drop a Legendary item.

Stratholme on Elite mode had a chance of dropping Gold equipment, but it wasn’t a guarantee for all Bosses. It was after Difficult mode where the dungeon began to drop more Gold equipment. Stratholme on Nightmare mode had a set chance of dropping Dark Gold equipment, but there was little or no chance of seeing a Legendary item.

The reason why the Bosses had dropped a Dark Gold equip almost every time was because they were taking the First Clears.

At the same time, the highest chance of finding Legendary equips was also on a First Clear.

Of course, this didn’t mean that it would be impossible for rare items to drop from now on.

Lu Li and the others had taken two days to complete the First Clear of this dungeon. If the next team successfully completed it within a shorter timespan, the System would accept the new record. Even though the new record wouldn’t be as good as the First Clear, it would certainly improve the drop rate and provide a low chance for Legendary items to drop.

"Alright, I’m going to start looting," Remnant Dream announced, rolling up her sleeves to reveal her chubby arms.

"Good luck, Dreamy," Azure Sea Breeze said. Although it seemed as though he would never talk to Remnant Dream again, he still turned around to cheer for her again.

"I think there’s a good chance for a Legendary equipment to drop. I wonder which class it’ll be for though..." Everyone was keen for the possibility of exquisite equipment. These days, Wandering had also discovered that sometimes, rare items attracted more attention than a handsome face.

"You already have Teebu’s Blazing Longsword. What more do you want?" Lu Li asked with a shake of his head.

Even if Balnazzar was to drop a Legendary item, it would have nothing to do with Wandering, who was a Paladin.

As they spoke, Remnant Dream had already begun to loot to Boss.

"Wow, wow, wow!" Remnant Dream looked shocked as she ecstatically ran up to March Rain with a wide smile on her face. "March, you have to thank me for this. I can promise you that no one will have a better item than you."

"What is it? Show me too!" Azure Sea Breeze shouted. He was like an ant running on a boiling pot.

The others were curious about the mystery item too; they were curious to see how good it actually was.

Remnant Dream had seen her fair share of exquisite equipment, so it took some truly extraordinary to make her react like this.

One of the reasons why Lu Li was so legendary was partly because of his equipment. This was followed by his leading ability and finally, his technique.

"Wow, thank-you Dreamy!"

March Rain, who was usually gentle, lost her composure after she quickly scanned the item. She hugged Remnant Dream and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek, ignoring the darkened expression of her brother.

If Remnant Dream was a little boy, she definitely would have been dragged out and beaten by him.

After the excitement died down a little, they finally shared the equipment Attributes. Lu Li had already guessed what it was when he saw that it looked like a book.

There were only so many Legendary items that Balnazzar could drop, and among the most popular was the Book of the Dead. It was known as the ultimate damage output equipment for Priests, and was also the Legendary item that was needed as a quest item to "change classes" to an Undead Mage.

Of course, this was only a description. The Priests in Dawn cannot be actually transformed into an Undead Mage.

Book of the Dead (Legendary): All Attributes +20, Intelligence +10%, 2 slots, Special Effect 1: Ring of Glory – this ring-type ability boosts the mana regeneration speed of the user and their ally within the area of the ring. Special Effect 2: Earthquake, knocks up all enemy units within 8 yards, causing them to fall and stunning them for 3 seconds, cooldown 10 minutes. Special Effect 3: Summon Skeleton – summon a skeleton that will fight for you for 5 minutes, cooldown 1 minute. Required Level 50, Priest only, Durability 280/280.

It was no wonder why Remnant Dream had said that if March Rain had this item, she could take down everyone else.

From the Attributes alone, this would be one of the most powerful Mage items. Unfortunately, this equipment was limited to Priests only.

On the other hand, this was a good thing for March Rain. No one could use this item besides her. Remnant Dream immediately knew that this item belonged to March Rain, but at the same time, this condition lowered its value at least threefold.

However, Priests was one of the most popular class in Dawn, so if they ran into a rich player, its price would be no problem at all.

Because it was an off-hand equipment, it didn’t have any damage Attributes, like all weapons did. Nevertheless, it still boosted Intelligence by a considerable amount. This was more than the bonus Attributes given by two or three pieces of equipment combined. As the base Attributes of March Rain increased, this bonus Attribute would follow suit.

The two slots had almost become the most basic asset to a Legendary item. If she could find a stone that could reduce the level requirement, she would be able to wear it immediately.

Special Effect 1 was an effect that all magic classes had their eyes on.

In his previous life, Lu Li had seen a solo Mage who was constantly invited by many major guilds to do dungeons just because of this effect. They even gave her first pick of the loot.

With this ring, Hachi Chan could probably save some of her scrolls.

However, the effect didn’t mean that Mage classes on the team would gain access to unlimited mana. That wasn’t realistic – at the very most, it would just reduce their usage.

Even so, the first two effects paled in comparison to the third.

At a surface-level, the third effect didn’t seem to be anything special. There were plenty of skeletons everywhere in the Plaguelands, but none of them were strong at all. The description of the effect wasn’t too clear about it either; only Lu Li knew the secret behind it.
