The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 216

He wanted to fire his energy rifle again but to do that he had to be under the creature because that was its weakest point. Several times he had tried to do that but the creatures avoided that as much as possible. This meant they were intelligent just like the ones that attacked Capital Star.

Yi Chen slammed into the wall avoiding another one of those spikes when he heard a beeping sound coming from behind him. When he turned his head back to take a look a small part of the wall broke into hives and he fell through.

The creatures that were active just now froze like statues before running away. As the walls closed on him he saw them scattering like ants at the beginning of a thunderstorm.

Breathing heavily Yi Chen took a step back. When he turned around the place dimly lit up revealing a five-by-five-meter room with walls made up of the toughest metal.

Inside was a single bed and crib. On the shelves were supplies and baby toys neatly arranged. Yi Chen wanted to explore this place that resembled a standard safe house but as the adrenaline wore off he could feel the pain now.

He touched his abdomen with the tips of his fingers and when he raised them they were stained with blood. His vision blurred as he tumble to the ground with the wall as his support. His expression grim he unzipped his suit and studied his situation. There were two holes in his abdomen that were bleeding profusely.

While Yi Chen was tending to his wounds, Zi Han was lying in an unkempt garden his eyes closed.

He had been having inexplicable visions as he lay there passed out but if one asked him later he wouldn’t even remember what it was he was seeing.

.....

After being passed out cold for a good two hours, Zi Han’s eyes slowly flickered as he sat up straight. Rubbing his eyes in a daze Zi Han looked at his surroundings and his brows creased. In front of him was a beautiful villa rundown due to lack of care.

“The fuck,” he whispered as he stood up. He looked around in a trance but he couldn’t see the man from before or the cliff. It seemed someone or something had dragged him here.

According to survival law, it is of utter importance that one doesn’t walk toward the creepy abandoned house. If one wants to live they might as well take their chances in the woods.

Zi Han chose to stay clear of the creepy house but the creepy house didn’t want to let him go.

He heard a raspy dry voice whisper in his mind, “You can’t leave.... unless if I say so.”

Zi Han, “???”

‘What? Houses can talk now?’ he thought as he tried to walk away. Instead, he was met by an invincible wall that wouldn’t let him pass through.

Zi Han turned around angrily and asked, “Show yourself..... Are you a ghost?”

“Yeah sure, a ghost would tell you if they are one,” said the voice before letting out a muffled chuckle.

Zi Han, “.....”

Zi Han was about to interrogate the voice some more when the pendant around his neck lit up brightly like the sun.

Zi Han glanced down and his brow arched up in surprise. That is when he realized that all this time he might have been actually carrying a mech.

This mech was so advanced that it disguised itself so well. To anyone, it looked like a simple pendant one would buy from a cheap online store. It was for this reason he had no idea that he was carrying around a mech.

Before he had enough time to study this phenomenon his body was suddenly transported into someone else’s mental space.

When the blinding light faded Zi Han found himself standing in the middle of a large hall. In front of him was a throne and on it sat a familiar humanoid creature.

“Fuck,” swore Zi Han as he took a step back. Memories of the previous encounter came rushing back and he froze in fear.

Zi Han licked his lips as he took out his handgun aiming it at the creature. The humanoid arose from the throne with a domineering air surrounding it.

“Haven’t we been through this twice already?” it said as it slowly walked over.

“On-once, it was only once,” stammered Zi Han his forehead laced with a layer of cold sweat.

The humanoid creature chuckled before lifting two fingers. “Twice.... the second time I infiltrated the simulator..... I can get to you whenever I want,” it said before flinging its arm sending Zi Han’s handgun flying.

Zi Han was so terrified that his complexion turned ghastly. “Wha, what do you you wa,” he said before his neck was grasped suffocating him.

The pendant around Zi Han’s neck glowed brighter and brighter. “You are a thief that’s what you are. You robbed what is mine and still ask me what do I want?” said the man his tone calm but it still sent shivers down Zi Han’s spine.

The creature tightened its grip on his neck and touched the pendant before tugging it.

Zi Han grabbed the creature’s wrist and spoke with great difficulty, “It.... be, belongs.... to my fa, father.”

The creature froze for a second as it pulled him closer to take a look. Zi Han’s face was still contorted with the veins on his temple and neck bulging. The grip on his neck loosened as the humanoid creature whispered, “Xixi.”

Zi Han froze as he stopped struggling. The humanoid creature didn’t have a face but Zi Han could clearly feel its undisguised joy.

“She, she is my mother,” he whispered and sure enough the humanoid creature let him go. It slowly sat him down crouching before Zi Han.

“Xixi,” it whispered again while reaching to touch his face, “Hanifa.”

Zi Han, “???”

“The fuck, I am a boy,” he blurted out and when he realized it he closed his mouth with his hand.

“Ahahaha you even swear like her..... Han Han,” it said with the last words spoken in a whisper.

Zi Han’s eyes reddened as he stared at this creature manifesting his father’s divine sense.

“Fath_,..... are you really dead?” he asked his chest twisting painfully. He already knew the answer but still asked.
