The Assassin's Enemy Lover

Chapter 546 - 546 Grandpa tries to help

As the breeze swept past the old man inhaled deeply before exhaling with his eyes closed.

“Do you feel that? That cool breeze. It has special calming effects. You should try it,” he said and Yi Chen glanced at his grandfather with a face that seemed to say ‘its never going to work’.

Grandpa Lin placed his hand on his shoulder and squeezed gently as though telling him that this wasn’t up for negotiation.

Yi Chen closed his eyes and did as told. He focused his mind on the cool breeze touching his skin. The sensation spread to the rest of his body replacing the heat from his rage before with a tranquil silence.

Seeing that he listened and he was calming down somewhat, grandpa Lin continued to say,

“I know he hurt your boyfrie-.” Yi Chen interrupted him saying,

“Fiance.”

Grandpa Lin wasn’t upset at all. He chuckled softly and said, “Yes right right right. How could I forget? Your fiance... but you have to help them reconcile because you two are going to get married. Han Han is going to be family now and we can’t have the two of you ignoring each other, right? It makes the atmosphere tense and hostile which can’t be good for the family, right?”

.....

Yi Chen could understand what his grandfather was saying but he still couldn’t let it go. He wanted to get Zi Han justice and compensate him but even he couldn’t find anything that would comfort Zi Han. He could only hate his father for messing things up over and over again.

Yi Chen pursed his lips and said, “Why though? Why does he hate him so much? Even you didn’t treat him how he treated Zi Han. How can I let that go? He broke his wrist and slapped him across the face. He also kidnapped him and forced him to help him find me. That’s very unforgivable,” said Yi Chen his anger rising again.

“Shh shh shh, I know I know. It is unforgivable but we can’t focus on the negative. You know your father best. Try and think through what his thoughts were when he made that decision. I am not siding with him, I just want you to say what you thought your father was thinking when he did that,” said grandpa Lin and Yi Chen began to think through it.

“When he broke Han Han’s wrist he was trying to distance the military from the Bloodgarde,” he said and grandpa Lin asked,

“Why? Why would he want to do that?”

“It’s... its because if the world found out then it would bring trouble to not only Zi Xingxi but my succession,” he answered as another thought slowly creep up his mind.

“And when he slapped Han Han in the face?” asked grandpa Lin and Yi Chen pointed at himself.

His father was trying to get to him but because Zi Han got in the way he was the one hit instead.

“As for the kidnapping part. Your father had already done so much to Zi Han and he knew that the moment he showed up in front of him he won’t even get a chance to speak to him so he decided on this method which wasn’t the best of idea but your mother was crying herself to death... I am not saying he was right, I am just saying he was thinking about your future and wanted the best for you but his methods were wrong. All in all, he loves you so much. He loves your mother and he loves your siblings. For you four, he will go to the ends of the world.”

Grandpa Lin had said a lot but he didn’t know if it was changing Yi Chen’s outlook.

“What if Han Han can’t forgive him?” asked Yi Chen and Grandpa Lin replied,

“You influence him just as much as he influences you. You just have to be willing first and he will listen to you. For the sake of family harmony I hope you two can reconcile,” he said before turning to leave leaving behind Yi Chen all by himself.

He also wanted things to go back to how things were in the past but whenever he recalled Zi Han’s grievances when he was crying about this his heart would ache and he would develop an inexplicable desire to fight his father and make him apologise.

While he was thinking it through a stealth cruiser landed at the front of the property and the Zi family arrived ready to keep the party going. Zi Han was trying his best to stop himself from running into the mansion to look for his lover whom he missed so much.

Lin Ruoxi received them with a warm smile reaching her eyes. She pulled out her light brain and messaged the entire house to come out.

Yi Chen was the only one who didn’t come that’s because her father told her not to call him. He mentioned something about him having something to think about.

When grandma Lin saw that cute face she couldn’t help but understand why it had to be him and no one else. “Oh come to grandma... little Han is so handsome no wonder Yi Chen couldn’t stop talking about you. That kid wouldn’t stop chirping,” said Grandma Lin almost monopolising him.

“Uh, grandma. I also want to hug saozi,” said Ming Ming pushing through the crowd of adults that were exchanging greetings.

Grandpa Lin pulled her back while saying, “It’s not your turn yet. Don’t you know him already? It’s grandpa’s turn.” Ming Ming pouted as she watched grandpa Lin take her place.

“Hello grandpa,” said Zi Han while his hand opened and a little guy that had been sleeping sniffed around trying to understand the situation.

Little nim nim couldn’t understand why they were so many people but it didn’t panic. Ming Ming immediately understood and she took the little guy before running away.
